Nytt projekt på gång

Jag skrev häromdan att jag helt tappat lusten att sticka, men det handlar nog mer om att jag har svårt för att koncentrera mig för tillfället, så jag påbörjade en enkel sjal, utan något som helst tankearbete bakom. Så skönt det är att ibland bara få sticka på,så länge man har lust, utan att räkna maskor eller varv. Stickar denna sjalen i ospunnen ull som jag fått av en bekant en gång. Det är första gången jag stickar i sådant garn, och jag älskar det. Har valt att göra sjalen främst i slätstickning, med några enstaka räta varv här och där, utan något som helst system. Tyckte att garnet kom bäst till sin rätt så. Garnet är supermjukt och gosigt, och jag hoppas att jag har garn så att det räcker till en riktigt stor sjal.


A new work in progress

I wrote the other day, that I don`t wanna knit anymore, but it isn`t that I don`t wanna to, I just can`t concentrate at the moment. So I decided to start on something very simple. A shawl. I don´t need to think, just knit on. No rows or stiches to count. I`m knitting this shawl in pre yarn, a yarn which is at a stage between carding and spinning. It`s the first time that I`m knitting with this kind of yarn, and I love it, it`s very soft. The shawl is mostly in stockinette stich, but with a few rows of garter stich. I think that is what looks best with this yarn. I hope I have enough yarn for a very big shawl.

Hemlispaket kom idag

Jag fick paket från min Hemlis 2 idag, och det satte verkligen guldkant på min tillvaro. 2 härliga röda härvor, jag älskar den färgen. Får väl klämma och känna lite på dem och se om de berättar vad dom vill bli. Himla god choklad fick jag också, och torkad dill och persilja, ska se om jag har några snygga burkar att förvara det i. Tack min Hemlis vem du nu är.

Jag har inte haft ork eller lust varken att sticka eller blogga den sista veckan. Mitt föl råkade ut för en olycka förra helgen, och är just nu på djursjukhuset och kämpar för sitt liv. Hade aldrig kunnat föreställa mig att man har så mycket känslor för ett djur, vågar inte ens tänka på hur det varit om det varit något av barnen. Sticklusten kommer säkert tillbaka när allt lugnat ner sig, men just nu är hela min tillvaro ett enda kaos.


Secret Pal parcel arrived today
I got a parcel from my Swedish Secret Pal today, and that sure made my day. 2 beautiful skeins in a great red color that I love. I have to touch them and look at them and see if they tell me what they want to be knitted into. I got some very good chocolat too, and some dryed herbs. Thankyou my Secret Pal , whoever you are.

I haven`t been able either to knit or to blog the last week. My foal was in an accident last weekend, and is right now spending time at the veterinary hospital, fighting for his life. I couldn`t imagine that it was possible to have that much feelings for an animal, I don`t wanna know how it would feel if it were one of the children.
But I`m sure that I`ll be back knitting again as soon as this is over.

2. How long have you been knitting? Would you consider yourself a Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced? I`ve been knitting for about 30 years, and I consider my self to be between intermediate and advanced.

3. Do you have any other hobbies besides knitting? I love all kind of crafting (cardmaking, crochet, spinning, dying etc), horses, dogs, gardening.

4. Favorite color(s)? I love all colors except orange. I think all colors are great if you just find the perfect project. But blue is an real favorite.

13. Favorite holiday treats? All homebaked cookies, and homemade Christmas candy.

14. Favorite holiday smells? The Christmas tree.

15. Do you celebrate Christmas in a traditional or unconventional way? Please elaborate. We celebrate it in a traditional Swedish way. The hole family comes together in the afternoon, we watch Donald Ducks Christmas on tv, after that are we having an traditional Christmas dinner. In the evening is Santa coming with all Christmas gifts.

16. What are your favorite holiday traditions? I really don`t know, I love all about Christmas.

Nya härliga garner - new great yarns

Jag beställde garn för ett tag sedan, och nu har det äntligen kommit, man blir som ett barn på julafton igen. Handfärgat blått tunt silke, jag älskar färgen och måste bara hitta det perfekta sjalmönstret till det. Merinoull i rosa och ljusblått, antagligen blir det sjalar av det också, och ljusgrå silke på kon. Den är riktigt supertunn och funderar på att sticka med den tillsammans med ett annat garn, men det får väl tiden utvisa.

I ordered some yarns a while ago and it finally arrived. I feel like a child on Christmas. Handdyed blue thin silk, I just love the color, and have to find the perfect shawlpattern for it. Merinolambswool in pink and babyblue, probably going to be shawls too, and grey silk. It`s very very thin and I`m thinking about knitting it together with some other yarn, but time will show.

Färdigt objekt - spetssockorna klara

Jag är så glad att de äntligen är klara, men naturligtvis upptäckte jag ett fel på dem och var tvungen att dra upp en bra bit. Hade missat att göra ett omslag. Struntade först i det och tänkte att jag kan nog leva med att det är ett hål mindre på den ena, men jag ångrade mig och det är jag så glad för nu efteråt. Hade det inte varit så att jag ville påbörja nåt nytt hade jag aldrig funderat på att låta felet vara överhuvudtaget. De skulle behöva en blockning, men eftersom jag inte har några sock blockare får det vara, hoppas att de hittar formen efter tvätt, får väl ta på dem blöta. Nu är det Feather and Fan Comfort sjalen som ska göras klar, den känns nästan lite vemodig att avsluta, jag gillade verkligen att sticka det mönstret.

FO - lacesocks is done

I`m so glad they finally are done, but of course I noticed that I missed a YO and had to frog a lot of rows. At first I didn`t care, thought I could live with it, but I`m glad I changed my mind. If it wouldn`t be for all the new things I want to start with I would never even think of letting there be mistakes in my knitting that I don`t fix. The socks could need to be blocked but I don`t have any sockblockers so I hope they find the right shape after wash, if not I`ll have to wear them while they`re wet.

Now am I going to finish the Feather and Fan comfort shawl, and I feel a little bit sad about it because I really enjoyed knitting it.

Det går framåt med spetssockorna

Jag kämpar på med mina spetssockor, och tycker faktiskt att jag hunnit ganska långt nu under helgen. Förhoppningen är att de ska bli klara ikväll, om nu bara barnen somnar i tid.

Det känns som jag stressat på som en galning, så jag hoppas att jag inte hittar några fel sen, för sånt klarar jag inte av. Jag gillar egentligen inte att stressa på med stickning, och stickar väl antagligen inte så jättesnabbt heller, kanske ytterligare ett skäl till att jag inte får stickat så mycket som jag skulle vilja, men just nu har jag massvis med nya projekt som jag vill börja på, och dessa sockor har suttit på stickorna sen i vintras, så de måste bara bli klara nån gång, sen blir det de sista få varven på Feather and Fan sjalen, innan nytt garn får kika fram från gömmorna. Jag längtar.

I`m making progress with my lace socks

I`m working on my lace socks, and I think I`ve made great progress during the weekend. I hope I´ll be able to finish them tonight, if only my kids will fall asleep in time. It feels like I have been stressing with them, and I hope I wont find anything that has been wrong, because I hate when it isn`t perfect. I don`t like knitting to fast and I guess that I can`t either. That might be one of the reasons why I don`t get as much knitted as I want to. Right now I have so many new projects that I want to start with, and this socks has been on the needles since last winter, and are about to become an UFO. I have to finish them, then the last few rows on my Feather and Fan shawl, after that can I finally cast on with something new. I can`t wait.

Färdigt objekt - Spiralling socks

Det har varit väldigt ont om sticktid på sistone, och en av orsakerna är de små sötnosarna här på bilden. De har verkligen sett till att vi har haft att göra under de sista veckorna, och alla fyra ( en gömmer sig bakom de andra) är väldigt intresserade av stickning, om än på sitt eget sätt. Nu har tre av dem flyttat hemifrån och endast sötnosen längst till vänster bor kvar hemma, och här är det tänkt att hon ska stanna. Hon heter Honey och hänger mig i hasorna 24 timmar om dygnet, men det händer att hon sover och då passar jag på att sticka.

I`ve had very little knitting time during the last nine weeks, and one of the reasons are the cuties on the picture. They have kept me buzy now for weeks, and I know that I`m alive. All four of them loves knitting (one is hiding behind the others), but in their own way. Three of them have now moved out, and only the cutie to the left is still here, and she is supposed to stay. Her name is Honey, and she follows me 24 hours a day, but it happens that she falls asleep, and that`s when I`m knitting.

Mina Spiralling socks för Sockamania är äntligen klara, om än inte i tid. Men jag är nöjd med dem och de var roliga att sticka, kommer nog att göra ett par till så småningom fast i ett enfärgat garn. Har just nu plockat fram ett gammalt UFO som jag tvingar mig själv att avsluta innan jag får börja på något nytt. En styck spetssocka och min Feather and Fan Comfort Shawl ska avslutas innan jag börjar på något annat. Har ett snyggt brun/orange förgarn som jag funderar på att sticka en sjal i. Har aldrig stickat med sådant garn förut, och ser med spänning fram emot det. Måste bara hitta ett bra mönster först.



My Spiralling socks for Sockamania is finally done, (but not in time). I love them and I enjoyed knitting them, I`ll probably make another pair in a solid color some day. At the moment am I forcing myself to finish an old UFO, before I let myself start with something new. I have one lace sock and the Feather and Fan Comfort Shawl that I`m going to finish. I have a nice preyarn in brown/orange that I`m thinking about making a shawl of. I`ve never knitted in that kind of yarn before and I really look forward to it, but I need to find a nice pattern first.

Vantarna från vantbytet har kommit

Vantarna från vantbytet på Stickamera kom igår. De är supertjocka och mysiga och jag kommer garanterat inte att frysa om fingrarna till vintern. Passar perfekt såklart och jag älskar färgen, härligt melerade i grönblått. Tack Dockmamman, de kommer garanterat att bli flitigt använda när kylan slår till.


The mittens from the mitt swap has arrived
The mittens from the Stickamera mitt swap arrived yesterday. They are really cozy and warm and I`m sure that they`ll keep my hands warm this winter. Perfect fit, of course and I love the color, variegated in green and blue. Thankyou Dockmamman, I`m sure of that they`ll be used a lot when the winter is here.
